Meet Matt Cutts

Matt Cutts was a student doing his BA and MA at the University of Kentucky before he became Google’s most outspoken blogger and major specialist in the quality department. At the university he studied computer graphics and movement tracking, as well as information retrieval and search engines Then he went on to do his PhD at the University of North Carolina which he never finished but became known in the world of internet instead.

At first Matt worked in the ads engineering group in Google and enjoyed his experience there. While at the ads group he started a campaign to battle occasionally springing up unwanted pornography links by sending the person reporting it cookies home-made by his wife. Currently Matt is a specialist in search engine optimization issues and is best known for advice on SEO and Google that he posts on his blog.

Matt’s hobby is entomology. He also spends considerable time on his blog and for people interested in search engines it has become a valuable resource. It is known for being the first blog by someone who works in Google that talks about Google itself with depth and a serious insight into the present and the future of the search engine.
